WHAT: Fighting for the power to revolutionize the world
RATING: NC-17 (Violence)
WHERE: Battlefield
( the power to revolutionize the world was something that every duelist in this game of death and rebirth craved. all members of the games were part of the student body council, yet only a few found themselves engaged to the rose bride. with each battle and twist of events, the game became more and more interesting. the desire to break through the world's shell, and being placed in complex situations, brought forth the worst in people. all their anger, desire, hate, and fears were strung out in suspenseful situations. the only ones who seemed to remain calm in this entire ordeal were yuuki and kaname, a brother and sister duo.
it began with the smell of roses filling up the air, then came the letters; from 'the world's end' as it said. they were invited to join the fight to gain an unimaginable amount of power, and to revolutionize the world as they saw fit if they won. it was first taken lightly by yuuki, but after much insistence from the world's end, and her own brother, she found herself fighting weekly for the chance to gain said power. while they both joined the duels, they hadn't really thought much about having to fight each other. then the day came where that innocent notion was shattered; they were set up against each other to fight.
like the day where they had been offered a chance to change who they were, today smelled of fresh roses blooming in the late spring. the platform in which yuuki stood upon was covered in over a million roses, and the sky was coated in red petals falling down and floating up. yuuki remained in a tranquil silence as she awaited for her brother to show up. she was was wearing her usual uniform; a dark and boyish style with a blazer and shorts. as she awaited, she stood with her sword between her right hand, pinned to the floor. her head was held up in the air, and the breeze gently floated her hair upwards.
the night before the duel, the two had been in their room, lying naked in a large white bed. the room was surrounded by large white curtains, and dark paintings that depicted a prince falling out of his castle, and of a princess being torn asunder. in their private and secluded room, yuuki remained close to kaname, her breathing heavy and deep. as they remained silent and still in their chamber, a small piano tone was heard, and yuuki broke their vocal silence. "no matter what...no matter who wins....we'll change this world together. right, kaname?", she said repeatedly, before she fell into a deep slumber.
the fear of failing was strong and deep within yuuki. they had to fight each other, and someone had to loose. while they both didn't care who won, the world's end cared about playing by the rules. they couldn't throw the fight and just allow one or the other to win. it wouldn't work that way. so yuuki stood still, waiting for her prince to show up. waiting for the man who would change their future and the world they inhabited.
when he showed up, she lowered her head towards him, and opened her once closed eyes. she began to walk, each step causing a path to clear in between the flowers. )
Kaname.......may the best man win.
